Research Associate - Trier, Germany

In the Department VI Spatial and Environmental Sciences, dept. Soil Science, University of Trier, a position as Research Associate (m/f/d) in the field of environmental analytical chemistry is available from June 1, 2022 (salary group 13 TV-L, 75% FTE, fixed term 30 months).

The position offers the opportunity for a PhD and is part of the project "AntBioHK - Effects of the increased use of poultry manure in biogas plants on the contamination of digestate by veterinary drugs". The joint project with the DBFZ - German Biomass Research Center, Leipzig - aims to clarify how the energetic use of poultry manure in biogas plants can be increased without adverse effects on the biogas process or on the environment as a result of pharmaceutical residues.

To this end, subproject 2 "Analytics and sample screening" will develop the analysis of drug residues in poultry manure and develop a data set on residue levels in manure of different poultry species and husbandry systems. In this context, degradation or transformation processes of the substances during fermentation are to be investigated.
