Research Associate (m/f/d) in the field of soil chemistry

In the Department VI Spatial and Environmental Sciences, dept. Soil Science, University of Trier, a position as Research Associate (m/f/d) in the field of soil chemistry is available (salary group 13 TV-L, 65% FTE, fixed term 3 years).

The position offers the opportunity for a PhD and is located in the project "Driver Pool - Substrate affects microbial driven distribution of energy and matter among organic carbon functional pools in soil" as part of the DFG priority program 2322 SoilSystems (www.soilsystems.uni-trier.de).

Driver Pool aims to investigate the microbially controlled interplay between decomposition pathways and energy fluxes of substrate turnover in soil. In the joint project of the Universities of Koblenz-Landau and Trier as well as the UFZ Leipzig, three research associates are working on WP1 energy balances, WP2 C-turnover, WP3 microbial activity and adaptation. Your research tasks in WP2 aim at determining substrates and transformation products and their distribution between functional pools.

From this, mass balances and dynamics of substrate turnover will be derived to better understand the soil ecosystem. Your job profile and further information can be found on our call for applications.

Please send your application by 10.10.2021 in a pdf file to thiele@uni-trier.de or by mail to University of Trier, FB VI, Soil Science, Prof. Dr. S. Thiele-Bruhn, Behringstr. 21, 54296 Trier. Please feel free to send questions about the position to thiele@uni-trier.de.
