XXVIII Dokuchaev Conference for Young Scientists «Information capacity of knowledge about soil»
The International Scientific Conference XXVIII Dokuchaev Conference for Young Scientists «Information capacity of knowledge about soil» will take place on 27 February – 1 March 2025 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The conference is devoted to the information capacity of knowledge about the soil, starting from the origins of the formation of soil science as a science to the present day. The conference is dedicated the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry and Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.
Topics of the conference:
- Chemical composition, properties and functions of soils;
- Databases as an information basis for soil-ecological monitoring;
- Radionuclides and heavy metals in ecosystems;
- Digital Soil Mapping, GIS in Soil Science;
- Agriculture and soil reclamation;
- Geography, genesis and classification of soils;
- School session “From school to science”.
The issues of chemical composition, chemical, physical, physicochemical, biological properties, ecological and biochemical functions, origin, evolution and geographical distribution, economic use and melioration of soils, classification of soils as an information system that collects knowledge about soils accumulated to date, the use of GIS technologies for the rational use of soils and databases as a basis for soil-ecological monitoring will be considered.
