Patrick Gicheru is a senior principal research scientist and holds
PhD in land and water management. I am the Director of The National
Agricultural Research Laboratories of Kenya Agricultural Research
Institute. I have an extensive experience in natural resource
management with a bias in sustainable land management and
environmental impacts on agricultural land use
spanning over 25 years.
My current research focuses on land and water management linking it
with natural resource management and land use planning. Recently he
has been involved with issues related to Green Water credits and
payment of environmental services, land degradation, climatic change
and how they impact on carbon stocks nationally and
internationally. He has been involved lately in the development of
three GEF funded projects in Kenya and one IFAD funded. One
concluded this year, one ongoing and the others at an advanced stage
of funding. My contribution to soil science will be the enormous
experience on dealing with land degradation issues in the tropics. |
