agriculture/plant nutrition in Vienna; PhD 1987;
1984-1996 staff scientist and 1997-2003 head of the Dep.
for Environm. Res. at the Austrian Res. Centers
Seibersdorf; 1993 Assc. Prof. for soil science at the
University of Natural Resources and Applied Life
Sciences Vienna (BOKU); 2001 full professor and
vice-director of the Institute of Soil Research; since
2003 vice-president for research of the university;
president of the Austrian Soil Science Society
(2000-2006); chairman of the Com. Soil Chemistry of the
IUSS (since 2006, vice-chairman 2002-2006),
vice-president of the Europ. Confederation of Soil Sci.
Soc. (since 2004); 337 scientific publications, thereof
161 peer reviewed journal articles and 28 book chapters;
supervision of 31 PhD theses. Fields of research: humus
chemistry, behaviour of heavy metals, radionuclides and
organic pollutants in soil (including molecular
modeling), lysimetry, use of isotopic methods. |
