Prof. Dr. Kazuyuki Inubushi received a
BSc in Agricultural Chemistry from the University of Tokyo, Japan
(1979). He attended graduate school of Agriculture at the University
of Tokyo, where he received a MS (1981) and PhD in Soil Science
(1984). Following a JSPS Postdoctoral fellowship, he was appointed
Assistant at the University of Tokyo (1984), and he moved to Faculty
of Bioresources, Mie University as Associate Professor (1987), then
moved again to Faculty of Horticulture, Chiba University (1993),
where he is currently Professor of Soil Science. He was working at
IRRI (International Rice Research Institute) and Rothamsted
Experimental Station, UK and till today he is keeping research
collaboration with them and other institutes/universities
internationally in various aspects of soil microbiology and
biochemistry. He is currently President of Japanese Society of Soil
Microbiology, Chairman of IUSS Sub-committee, Science Council of
Japan, and past vice chair for Commission 2.3 Soil Biology, the
International Union of Soil Science. Board member of Japanese
Society of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, Editorial member of
Biology and Fertility of Soils (Regional Editor); Soil Science and
Plant Nutrition; Microbes and Environments. Progress Award of
Japanese Society of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition (1987), Best
Paper Award in International Soil Science Society (1994), Oze Award
(award for environmental study in natural wetland ecosystem) (2004)
and Award of Japanese Society of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition
