Stephan Mantel is a soil scientist working at ISRIC World Soil Information in Wageningen the Netherlands. His research focus is on assessments of land degradation and land potential at varying scales. He maintains a special interest in translating soil and land resources data into information for land management decision-making. He has been involved in various natural resources management projects in the past 15 years. He has an active research co-operation with various institutes all over the globe. He is secretary and treasurer of the Dutch Soil Science Society.
