Dr. Sedov has graduated
from the Moscow Lomonosov University, Department of soil
Science, in 1985, obtained PhD at the same university in
1993, in 1985-1999 worked in the same department as
technical assistant, researcher, assistant professor,
since 1999 researcher in the Dep. of Soil Science,
Institute of Geoloy, National University of Mexico (UNAM).
Initiated the research in paleopedology in 1995
collaborating with Prof. A.Bronger to study Moroccan
Terrae Rossae then participated in various
paleopedological and geoarchaeological projects:
research of loess-paleosol sequences, Holocene soil
evolution of Eastern Europe, ancient human impact in
soils associated with early-medieval settlements. In
Mexico together with the colleagues from UNAM formed a
paleopedological group, which first promoted the study
of the volcanic paleosols in central Mexico and
currently extends its activities towards
soil-archaeological topics, associated with pre-hispanic
civilizations of Mesoamerica. Author of more than 30
publications in national and international journals,
member of org. committees of 2 international events on
paleopedology arranged in Mexico in 2001 and 2005. |
