Professor Wang Jinggou graduated with BSc in Soil
Science from Beijing Agricultural
University (Currently China Agricultural University),
Beijing, CHINA, in 1982, and with PhD in Microbiology
from Agricultural University of Norway in 1991. He was
employed as a teaching assistant in agrochemistry by
Beijing Agricultural University from Jan.1982 to
Aug.1986 prior to his promotion to lecturer in July 1987
(to April 1991), then to Associat e Professor in 1993.
He was awarded a full professorship in 1999 at the China
Agricultural University (CAU). He has been engaged
partially in an administrative position, as Director of
International Relations of CAU from Dec. 1998 to May
2006. Professor Wang Jingguo has been the Chair of
Commission of Soil Education, Soil Science Society of
China since Oct. 2000, co-Chair of Supervision Committee
of Agricultural Resources and Environmental Sciences of
The Ministry of Education, China, since 2003, and editor
of Acta Pedologica Sinica, since Aug. 2004. Professor
Wang Jingguo intends to exchange and share information
and experiences with colleagues from other countries,
for stimulating internationalization of soil education
in China, where there is an increase in both
undergraduate and postgraduate numbers. He also seeks to
cooperate with colleagues and organizations to improve
the understanding by the global community of the
importance of soils to sustainable land use and the
quality of our environment especially in the developing
world. |
